THE FAW TROPHY FINAL
Score 0-4
CEFN ALBION did their talking out on the pitch as they lifted the Welsh Trophy.
The lads were brilliant from start to finish. Our form hasn’t been good since the semi-final and I had a feeling they’d got their eye on this one.
“They were fantastic - every single player although I have to say that Dion Gibbons was outstanding. He’s only 18 but he ran the show in the middle.”
Albion started the game in tremendous fashion with two early goals to settle the nerves.
Nathan Williams netted from close range before Conner Kendrick put them 2-0 up.
Kien Morris added a third before substitute Jamie Foulkes scored a goal from his own half in injury time, lobbing the keeper to cap a memorable win.
That was the icing on the cake for Davies, who won the trophy back in 2002 as a player with Cefn United.
“I’d put him on and told him to stay back and defend,”added Davies. “But he must have had five chances in their box before he scored that goal. And what a goal it was. How could I have a go at him after that!”
That kicked off joyous celebrations, starting in the clubhouse at Aber’s Park Avenue ground before finishing off back home in Cefn Mawr.
“I can’t remember what time I got in,” said Davies. “It was a good night, a great day and I have to say that we conducted ourselves in the right manner.
